Original ideas are the ones no one has thought of yet. This class focuses on how imagination is the basis for science and the two have always worked together to create some of the greatest ideas in history. Students examine the life of Leonardo Da Vinci, the scientist, inventor and artist and learn how he integrated this kind of integrated thinking in his life and work.Students use Leonardo’s notebooks as inspiration and each week take a theme and draw out an invention of their own in their Da Vinci-style notebooks. They then make a model of their own invention using new and re purposed materials. In this class every idea is given life as we examine Leonardo’s inventions and the ones that are still used today.
Participants must currently be in grades 3 to 5.
Registration starts on 03/06/2019 and ends on 03/12/2019.
